I have no idea what is going on here. Vette on a 54 Mercury frame?

Looks like a hot wheels car, that alone is worth the asking price.

All that work and he kept the Y-block? Wat?

It’s such a mess of various parts, Johnny Cash wrote a song about it.

What is the asking price?

Looks like a bad C3 vette kit car had relations with a Myers Manx. But thats Maine. And of course its in the barter section. Anyone else watch downeast dickering?
Also those are the smallest side pipes ever fitted to a car...

A trade for a muscle car

I have no idea. It is apparently all 54 Mercury under there.

I can’t even. I tried but my brain crashed.

But what’s he valuing this, er, thing? The value of the parts ($12K) or the traditional way we value someone else’s project (eg: at most half of what is invested)?
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:01 |
|
why would you put that much EFFORT into this project?

I mean, I appreciate a period-modded Y-block in an old Ford/Merc (tri-power intakes FTMFW!) ... but in this? Dude, y u no Windsor or something?

The equivalent of a nice chevy or mopar muscle car...

But one that has a value of what? That’s what I’m getting at. Usually when approaching a trade, each side provides an idea of where they value their car if they were to sell it. My point is, we have no way of knowing what value the seller places on this car. That would be my first question if I were interested.

Don’t question real Mainers. It’s just another car that tickles their fancy if you will.
Do some studying. I recommend Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations episode and the show Down East Dickering.

Scratch that they say its in Vermont, but its similar. Just a few more hippies among the townies
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:22 |

yeah but for this, WHY? Shoulda kept the Vette motor.
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:23 |

It makes the worse kind of no sense.
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:25 |

Normally we’re completely behind not making sense.

“I can rebody this old Merc with this here Vette but changing the motor mounts? TOO HARD!”
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:29 |

insanity
all of it
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:36 |

Now we know where that line is.
![]() 03/03/2016 at 11:43 |

and it’s very, very scary on the other side.
![]() 03/03/2016 at 12:19 |

Very ambiguous isn’t it? I’m guessing street value of $20-30k, which is about 15-25k too much.

Its the left overs from his (much better) 54 Merc on a Vette chassis.

I’d like to see that.
